LIMOCART Launches with Tom Mazza as Partner
Wednesday, May 4th, 2011LIMOCART, an online marketplace to sell chauffeured transportation services, was launched in February. Developed by a team of programmers led by company CEO Mesut Darandeli, president of RHXO Technology Group and a Columbia University Ph.D. candidate, LIMOCART seeks to become the “Expedia, for ground transportation.” Industry icon Tom Mazza was so impressed with the technology that he joined Darandeli and Emin Kahyaoglu as equity partners in the new venture.
LIMOCART.com is an interactive website that allows consumers to reserve any vehicle from a taxi to a 55-passenger coach in major cities in North America with just a few mouse clicks. The company model is to hand select just three vendors in each metro area to ensure quality, create a uniform service standard, and sustain a customer-focused culture. LIMOCART will be securing vendors around North America through May 1 and assisting them in the process of loading rates and vehicles into the site.
According to the partners, LIMOCART will generate real reservations booked directly into the individual companies at rates determined by the LIMOCART partner company. LIMOCART does not charge for leads; rather, a $2 service fee is paid by the consumer for booked reservations. The LIMOCART vendor will pay $5 for a booked reservation, and after a free 90-day trial, a monthly fee, to be part of the network. Additional revenue will be generated by site advertising. Mazza, who will continue to develop his core business Tom Mazza Consulting, says the company is actively pursuing partnerships with the major portals where airline tickets are purchased. Mazza says, “My role moving forward will be to first line up quality partners in our system, then to help make the connection to the appropriate travel sites.”
Emin Kahyaoglu, partner in LIMOCART and owner of Kismet Limousine and Teaneck Taxi in Teaneck, N.J., has been working to make LIMOCART a reality for nearly 10 years.
